Our hotel puts the Portes du Soleil at your fingertips!

Welcome to paradise for skiers, mountain bikers, and hikers...

The Portes du Soleil ski area is a vast playground with all kinds of fun on tap year round. The world's largest cross-border ski area, it extends into both France and Switzerland. In winter, it offers over 300 slopes for all levels. Admission comes in the form of single package which includes access to 3 exceptional valleys, 12 resorts connected by 200 lifts, and 600 kilometres of skiing.

Free shuttles stop in front of the hotel to take you straight to the Vonnes lifts, for direct access to the Super Châtel and Linga slopes. The perfect spot for endless hours of skiing, or to try other sports like snowscooting, telemark skiing, free-riding, speed-riding, and freestyle thanks to 11 snowparks and 4 boardercross venues. You can also take a calmer approach to enjoy the superb alpine landscape with cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing, or dog-sledding.

In summer, the Portes du Soleil is a great destination for hiking and mountain biking. You can take different paths to explore majestic and varied Alpine landscapes. You might even cross the border without realizing it as you stroll through a meadow. 23 lifts are open to walkers (included in the multipass), in case you'd like to reach the summit rapidly or are feeling a little worn out. Mountain bikers will think they've regained paradise. The Portes du Soleil is one of the world's largest mountain biking areas, with 600 km of trails, 50 km of well-maintained downhill trails, 21 dedicated lifts, and 25 mountain biking schools. Not only are the trails seemingly endless, they are in excellent condition and extremely varied: options include cross-country, endurance and downhill riding through pine forests, along winding paths, or through Alpine meadows, all in a safe environment.

The village of Châtel enjoys an ideal location in the Chablais region on the Franco-Swiss border, making it the perfect home base to discover the Abondance Valley, with its traditional chalets, the Lac de Vonnes and its water sports, Switzerland, and more.

Châtel, nestled in the Abondance valley, boasts all the attractions of an authentic Alpine resort. Its appeal lies in its lively, welcoming atmosphere, its traditional architecture and its exceptional natural surroundings.

There's plenty to explore. Start by discovering the charm of small resorts like Châtel and La Chapelle d'Abondance, then head farther afield to explore Haute-Savoie, Lake Geneva, and Switzerland.
